Patricia Ann Funderburgh, 90, of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019. Born in Plano, Texas she was a proud 4th generation Texan, who took pity on anyone not born in the Greatest State in the Union.
Patricia leaves behind her children, Sheila Rinehart and her husband, Neil of Plano, Steven Funderburgh of Georgetown, her grandson Matthew Rinehart and his expectant wife Lorraine of Celina, her granddaughter Allison Billodeau, her husband Justin and two great-grandsons, Greyson and Grant Billodeau of Austin.
She is preceded in death by her adored husband of more than 43 years, Johnny Jim “Bud” Funderburgh, her daughter-in-law, Christine Funderburgh and her beloved fur-baby, Abby.
As a child during the Great Depression, her humble beginnings gave her a depth of gratitude that was often unmatched. Patricia was deeply devoted to her family and friends, as well as the often disappointing Texas Rangers. She was stubborn, sassy, and sharp-witted, but loved to laugh and make jokes in even the darkest of times. She loved chocolate, a good card game and watching baseball with her little dog in her lap. She left an indelible impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be greatly missed, but we know that she’s already entertaining the loved ones she’s rejoined in Heaven.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 11-11:30 am immediately followed by a memorial service from 11:30-12 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Ted Dickey Funeral Home at 2128 West 18th Street in Plano, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the American Kidney Fund, since the Funderburgh Family was forever changed by a kidney donation. You can donate at http://www.kidneyfund.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/memorials-and-tributes.html#frequently_asked_questions
The family of Patricia wishes to thank the many nurses, doctors and caregivers whose kindness will never be forgotten.
