Marguerite Jennison passed away on May 9, 2019. Born in Wisconsin in 1921, she lived to be nearly 98 years old. Her childhood spanned the 1920’s and 30’s in Minnesota where her father was a railroad depot agent. She grew up living in depot housing, which was in part re-modeled boxcars. As a young bride she became co–owner of a Turkey and Dairy Farm with her husband in Minnesota. She was a 4H leader for 25 years. By the 1960’s, the family moved west and settled in El Dorado County California where she was a resident for fifty-five years. Living on the edge of Apple Hill, Marguerite spent many happy hours canning and baking from the bounty of Apple Hill and her husband's prolific garden. She was always happy to have children or grandchildren lick the mixing spoon when the baked goods were safely in the oven.
Marguerite was an accomplished pianist and avid reader especially of World history and politics. She worked for the Sly Park Conservation Center as a cook. She enjoyed being involved in the ladies groups at the Federated Church in Placerville.
She is preceded in death by her husband Eldon and her brother William. She is survived by her children: Brian (Rachael), Steve (Diann), Marcheta (Ronny), Ramona and Bruce (Kelly), 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Marguerite set the bar very high for all her family. She will be deeply missed.
Friends and family are invited to her service on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, California.
