Irene Truss passed away on May 10, 2019 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. Irene was born in Aliquippa, PA on May 3, 1921 to the late Michael & Mary (Lucas) Truss. The family returned to Connecticut, so Irene was educated in the New Britain school system, graduating with high honors and as a member of the National Honor Society from the Senior School in 1939. Irene was employed for 47 years at the Public Library of the New Britain Institute; for the first 10 years at the Hawley Children’s Library, for the next 37 years she was a cataloger and a reference assistant at the very active business and technical department and when it merged with general reference continued as indexer until her retirement in 1986. She is survived by nephew Philip Rejeski & wife Donna (Theriault) and their three sons - William, David P. and Andrew; nephew David W. Rejeski & wife Ulla (Dannnebom) and their sons Jan and Kai; family friend Elizabeth Wolfe and caregiver and friend Anna Kwiatkowsky. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother John Truss and wife Antoinette (Trevision) and sister Ann Truss Rejeski (William). Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. As a member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, 121 Beaver St., New Britain, Irene will be laid to rest in the family plot at the Holy Trinity Byzantine Cemetery on Osgood Ave. Funeral arrangements are in care of the New Britain Memorial & Donald D.
