John Gregory Campanini entered into eternal life on May 10, 2019. Greg was 57 and was born on May 22, 1961 in Jacksonville, FL to Nicholas and Shirley Campanini. Greg lived most of his adult life in Jacksonville, FL, a city that he loved for the wonderful recreational activities including the St. Johns River, the beautiful beaches and the wonderful climate.
Greg attended the University of Florida and studied Business Administration. Greg found his passion in life by providing and managing competitive employee benefits solutions to his many business clients. Greg started his own company, J. Gregory & Associates in 1990 with faith and passionate desire to provide the most price competitive and comprehensive employee benefits to his clients. J. Gregory & Associates evolved into the current firm, JG & A Benefit Advisors, which recently celebrated its benchmark 30th Anniversary. Greg was a compassionate and giving person who was always looking out for the best interest of others. Greg was a prideful and humble man, quick to offer help to others, slow to ask for help for himself. Greg was kind hearted, almost to a fault and would give a total stranger the shirt off his back or the shoes off his feet to help them out. Greg faced a terrible cancer diagnosis with the same passion and commitment that he led his life. He battled against this terrible disease on three separate occasions and never complained and never gave an inch. Greg lived life to the fullest and was looking forward to retirement so that he could spent quality time with his beautiful wife Victoria traveling and enjoying their family. I am reminded of one of Greg’s favorite songs was “My Way” performed by the late great Frank Sinatra. A few versus of this song captures Greg’s essence.
And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way
They don’t write them like this anymore and they don’t make them like Greg anymore.
