He is survived by his daughter, June (John) Smith; his grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Jessica (Kevin) Gibbens, Joshua (Chasiti) Smith; his great grandchildren, Kelvin Gray, Jr., Noah Gibbens, Asiia Smith; and two brothers, Billy Plumley, Allen Plumley.
Visitation will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Leak Memory Chapel. A private Graveside Service will follow at 1:00pm at Greenwood Cemetery.
Jim spent his life in service to our country as a firefighter. After retirement from 20 years active duty Air Force firefighter work, he then joined the Civil Service and continued firefighting for another 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and loved animals.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Amedisys Home Health, Right at Home healthcare, as well as Dr. Karst and his staff for their excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery Humane Society.
