Bishop Allen B. Coleman departed this life on Friday, May 10, 2019. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on August 20, 1962 and was the son of Mildred (Carter) Coleman and Oscar Coleman Sr. He was the 9th child born to this union. At the age of 15, Bishop Coleman received Christ when the gospel was shared with him by a family member. Bishop Allen B. Coleman answered the Call to say “Yes” to the Lord nearly four decades ago.
He was the Founder and General Overseer of Voice of Joy Word Ministries International, a Full Gospel, Interdenominational Christian Fellowship poised with a Vision to “Cover the Earth with Total Man Ministry” - a Concept that Presents Christ and promotes the Spirit of Excellence on every level and in every field. Bishop Coleman completed his undergraduate studies through a satellite campus of the Rhema Bible Training Center of Tulsa, OK. He completed his postgraduate work from the Friends International Christian University of California where he served as an Adjunct Professor for many years.
As a “cutting edge” speaker, the straightforward approach of the Bishop made him a favored guest at churches, conferences and convocations worldwide. Called a "Father of Revelation", the Lord has captured the hearts of many through the depth of wisdom tempered by an overpowering father’s heart. The result was a message deep enough to feed, but simple enough to understand. As an Author, Bishop Coleman has written several publications, including the very popular Mastering Your Identity, a Relationship Manual that has resulted in hundreds of couples renewing their wedding vows. The Broadcast Media Programs, Region Voice Radio and Wisdom Nuggets, are popular in both Christian and Inspirational markets.
In 1999 the Lord led Bishop to establish a fraternal Network called the International Fellowship of Covenant Churches and Ministries. Through it, many independent, denominational, sacramental and evangelical leaders found covering, mentorship and impartation. To date, the I.F.C.C.M. has reached four continents.
He was the loving husband of the former Angela D. Bell for 38 years. To their union they have two daughters, Charity and Erica (Andrew III) and four grandchildren - Andrew IV, Angela, Allen, and Amarissa.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Brothers: Arthur Coleman (Durema), Otha Coleman (Deborah), Oscar Coleman Jr. (Constance), Samuel Coleman (Valerie) Sisters: Murlene Horne, Glenda Long, Margaret McBride Norris (James), and a host of many others; including nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual sons and daughters, and loving friends. He will be greatly missed as his legacy lives on through many. Heaven has gained a General.
