Lillian Strumski, 94, of East Hartford, Connecticut passed away peacefully on May 12, 2019. Lillian was born June 29, 1924 to Calogero and Calogera Lauria. She met the love of her life, Alben Strumski while working as a secretary at Pratt & Whitney. They were happily married for 61 years when Al passed away in 2012. Together they traveled across the country, raised a family and hosted unforgettable celebrations in their cherished home. Lillian worked as a secretary at East Hartford High School, where she was adored by students and faculty alike. Lillian was an avid Red Sox fan and a devoted member of St. Rose Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Women’s Guild.
Lillian will be dearly missed by her daughter Gail Griffith and her husband Phil, her daughter Holly Wardrop and her husband Chris, as well as her beloved grandchildren: John, Teddy and P.J. Griffith and his wife Kelly, and Mitchell Wardrop as well as her dear nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a period of visitation on Thursday, May 16th, 8:30am-10am at Newkirk & Whitney/Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am at St. Rose Catholic Church, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. Burial will conclude services in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
