A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 starting at 5 p.m. at Centralia City Hall, 114 S Rollins Street.
He was born on July 13, 1959 in Dade City, FL, the son of Roy and Myrtle (Fallaw) Hancock.
Ray worked for many years as a bricklayer. He was passionate about mushroom hunting and searching for arrowheads, taking care of plants and gardens. He enjoyed playing Frisbee and cooking barbecue. Ray was just an all-around good man and was always willing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by: his wife, Sherry Current; his mother, Myrtle Clayton; his children: Yvonne Hancock (Daniel Lamm) of Renick; Corie Hancock (Andrea Whitney) of Columbia; stepsons: Terry Lee Current (Sonya) of Bremerton, WA and Shane Current (Kristen) of Richmond, VA; grandchildren: Trystan Smith, Kaleb Russell, Thomas Hancock, Hunter Hancock, Justice Hancock, Noah Hancock, Ellie Hancock, Brandy Current, Brandon Current, Cassey Current, and Terron Current; siblings: Bobby Fallaw (Charlotte), Kathie Kitchen (Michael), Esther Deornellas (Skip), Shawn Hancock (Teresa Brechler), Steven Hancock (Connie), Wendell Clayton, Jr. (Laurie), Marvin Clayton, and Becky Ward (Randy). He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Hancock; his stepfather who raised him, Wendell Clayton, Sr., and his grandmother, Esther Overstreet.
