It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howie on May 14 2019 in his 90th year. Loving and devoted husband to Mary “Molly” (Guthrie) for 62 years. Adored dad of Dan (Donna), John (Tracy) and Julie (Randy). Fun and loving Grandpa to Laura, Janis (Sean) Brenda (Stephen), Rob (Genevieve) and Nicole (Leighton). Great Grandpa to Joey, Jen, Adam, Amelia, Chloe and Celeste. Dear brother to Erla, predeceased (Bill Johnston) and Joy (John Brinning) predeceased. Brother-in-law of Ray (Cecile) Guthrie, predeceased, John (Joan) Guthrie, Mary Ann (Gord Whelan) (Harold, predeceased), Rachel (Henry Louisseize) predeceased, Sue (Leon Loucks, predeceased) and many nieces and nephews. Howie had his own plumbing business in Peterborough for many years. Howie is the last survivor of the original four founders of the famous Liftlock Atom Tournament. Recreationally he enjoyed golfing and curling and tending to his gardens at home. Spending time with his family and friends, especially playing euchre, was one of his favourite pastimes. His welcoming smile, big hugs, kind heart, work ethic and “Howie jokes” will forever remain in our hearts. Funeral Mass at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH (386 Rogers Street) on Saturday, May 18th at 10:30 a.m. Private family interment at a later time. In memory of Howie, donations may be made to the charity of your choice if you wish. Online condolences may be made at www.comstockkaye.com
