This is the story of Irmine Bertha Depeine, known to family members as “Doudoute”, passed away in peace on Sunday, May 12, 2019, in Boca Raton, Florida with her beloved family members at her bedside, at the age of 53 years. Irmine’s story starts on Wednesday, September 1, 1965 in Port Au Prince, Haiti. She was daughter of the late Joseph Marcel Depeine and Odette Richard.
Irmine migrated with her brother to the United States in October of 1981 at the young and exciting age of 16 years. She attended East Orange High School where she excelled in her studies and was part of the graduating class of 1984. Later, in the 1990’s, after relocating to the beautiful sunshine state of Florida, Irmine attended Broward College, in Hollywood Florida.
Irmine was a wonderful woman that was loved and is missed and will always be cherished. She took extreme pride and passion in collecting the beauty of Haitian artwork. She collected some of the most stunning paintings. Irmine, who was always nicely dressed, enjoyed shopping and watching movies. Most importantly, Irmine loved to stay in touch with family and friends. She spent countless hours on the telephone reminiscing and sharing stories.
In 1990, she started a long and successful career at The Home Depot of Deerfield Beach Florida. Her dedication and devotion to her employer was appreciated and her final position was that of a Costumer Order Specialist. Irmine was a loyal employee of this store location for 29 years. Quoted by her manager and fellow coworkers, “Irmine was a hard worker, kind and helpful to all she engaged with and trained.” This special group of people became her second family. She was loved, admired, appreciated, and cared for by the Home Depot family and from The Depeine family we say, thank you Home Depot for loving our “Doudoute”.
