Dorothy Willmann, age 96, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on May 16, 2019. She was born June 5, 1922 in Mason, Texas, to Olga and Robert Fischer. After graduating from Mason High School, Dorothy attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College, now Texas State University, in San Marcos, Texas. She became a school teacher and taught school in Mason and in Seguin. In June of 1947 Dorothy married Alton Willmann of Seguin. They lived in San Antonio over twenty-five years and have been in New Braunfels since 1973. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Albert Kypfer Hermann Sons Lodge, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 7110. She was preceded in death by Alton Willmann, her loving husband of sixty-two years, her parents, her sister Helen Fischer, son-in-law Gordon Sitton, and beloved grandson, Brad Sitton. Dorothy is survived by her four children: son Kent Willmann and wife, Beverly of New Braunfels; daughter Kay Caran and husband Chris of Austin; daughter Dian Sitton of San Antonio; and daughter Peggy Boldt and husband Dan of San Antonio. Her grandchildren are Jill Dunn and husband Joe of San Antonio; Abby Griffith and husband Bill of Los Angeles; Libby Thomas of Houston; Blake Boldt and wife, Ashley of San Antonio; Kara Minarcik and husband, Jeff of San Antonio; and Katherine Willmann of San Marcos. Dorothy’s great-grandchildren are Mason and Emory Dunn of San Antonio; Alana, Logan and Shayleigh Thomas of Houston; Lana, Cade and Ava Boldt of San Antonio; Brooklyn and Brody Minarcik of San Antonio; and Emmy and Grey Griffith of Los Angeles. A memorial service for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St., New Braunfels, Texas, with Pastor Chip Reynolds officiating. The service will be followed by a reception at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 777 W. San Antonio St., New Braunfels, Texas. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, or the charity of one’s choice.
