Thomas is survived by his wife Barbara, Sister Nancy Kramer and family, Daughter Nancy Mondry and husband Joel, Son Kent Dorl, Grandchildren Kevin Mondry and wife Christine, Keith Mondry, Katie Kreft and husband Andrew, and Great-grandson Andrew Kreft Jr.
Thomas was born on November 8, 1929. He was an unassuming man and well-liked by all who knew him. Tom attended Calumet High School 1944-1947 where he received the most valuable player award for his position as center on the football team.
Tom attended Morgan Park Jr College before being drafted into the Korean Conflict in 1950.
Upon his return from service as Sergeant in the Army, Tom joined the family business, Dorl Wholesale Meat Co., in 1952.
On May 29, 1954, Tom married Barbara West at Grace Methodist Church in Chicago, IL. Tom and Barbara settled in Oak Lawn, IL to raise their family. Tom and his family, along with his cherished sister’s family, loved spending weekends in the summers at their beloved farm in Marengo, IL.
Memorial Visitation will take place June 8, 2019 from 11am until the time of Memorial Service at 12pm at Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church (9230 S Pulaski Rd, Oak Lawn, IL 60453).
