Sarabeth Rosenblatt passed away peacefully on 5/28/2019 surrounded by family and her oldest childhood friend after battling cancer and diabetes. Sara was born on 1/9/1952 in Queens New York, graduated from Rahway High School, got her RN from the Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC, and attended Hunter College. She worked as a nurse in a number of settings before retiring.
Sara is survived by her mother Naomi, her sisters -Susan, Mindy and Barbara and their families. She is also survived by her loving husband of 47 years Bill, and their two children Emily Wood and Noah and their spouses Erik and Chrissy. Sara also leaves behind 5 grandchildren Simon, Lucy, Molly, Nina and Oliver. She loved and cherished her time with them and was incredibly thoughtful, often sending them hand written cards even though she lived just a few miles away. Her grandchildren loved baking cookies and doing crafts with her and she always carried a bag filled with trinkets, chocolates, or candies for them.
Sara loved animals, ice coffee, cooking entertaining, welcoming an endless assortment of traveling surfers in her home, watching old black and white movies, Law and Order, NCIS, Monk, The Closer, anything with James Cagney and listening to music from the Great American Songbook especially while laying on a float in the jacuzzi in her house in Puerto Rico. Her exuberance and trademark sense of humor guided her interactions with others creating a sea of friends and loved ones who laughed in her wake. She was fiercely independent and strong willed and could make a joke about anything. Her laugh was contagious.
Sara was loved by many and will greatly be missed. Her spirit will live on with her family, and all the people whose lives she touched, and in all the places she loved.
