Floyd was born on September 1, 1924 in Black, MO, to Arthur and Laura (Moses) Hays.
He was a member of Moro Presbyterian Church for over 30 years where he sang in the choir.
Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, collecting coins, traveling and lets not forget, picking up sticks.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife and the love of his life, Helen; son, Dennis (Jo Ann) Hays; daughter Sherryl (Dan) Holliday; grandchildren, Bryan, Kimberly & Nathan; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Chase, and Brayden; brothers, Jim & Eual (Brenda) Hayes.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Olen, Homer, Hershel and Jackie Hayes; sister, Fern.
Memorials in Floyd’s honor may be made to Edwardsville Masonic Lodge #99, Family Hospice or Moro Presbyterian Church.
A funeral to celebrate Floyd’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Lake View Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 5000 N. Illinois St, Fairview Heights, IL, 62208, at 12:00 pm with a visitation prior, beginning at 10:00 am.
