James Douglas Alonzo Spielman, age 66, of Copperas Cove, Texas passed away on Monday June 3, 2019. James was born May 10, 1953 in Berkley Springs, West Virginia to Betty Spielman and Denver Spielman.
James' fondest childhood memories are playing outside, riding bikes, playing marbles and being with his friends.
Things that made him smile are good times, good bonfires and good friends.
His special achievement was when he was crowned the TOPS TX State King in 1987. He also held various offices while in TOPS.
He loved to swim, walk, and go to casinos.
James was very proud when he retired from CTC (Central Texas College) after 33 years of employment. CTC is where he and Sabrina met. The were both employees. He said "Getting married to Sabrina was his proudest family moment."
They were married for 37 years. Even though, they never had any children of their own, he enjoyed taking his nephews and nieces to Astroworld and Waterworld. As we all know, James was just a "big kid' himself.
"Old Man" had a special bond with his niece, Brittany Spielman. He enjoyed clothes shopping for her at Wal-Mart. Hitting those sales! Also, taking her to the casino. Letting the wife, ride in the back, while Brittany got to ride in the front and be the Queen.
James, Jimmy, Gee-la, Chuckles, Tons-of-Fun and Old Man will be missed by all.
