As a loved one passes from us during the twilight of their life, it gives pause to those whom have witnessed their journey by providing comfort, and beautiful memories as the challenge of extending their legacy becomes our path.
Artisteen W. White born May 21, 1933, was received into the loving arms of Jesus Christ June 6, 2019. She and her late husband Eugene H. White raised three sons whom also raised families: Barron E. White and his wife Cristina, Herrington J. White, and Adrian R. White. She is also survived by her grandchildren-Heather, Shadha, Enrique, Juan, Adam, Reese, Dustin, Taylor, Andre, Stefon, and greatgrandchildren-Anessa, Travis, Nora, Cordell, Ashton, Kristin, Jordan and Codie, and Ethan. As a member of Skyline Baptist Church since 1965, Artisteen was an active member serving on several community outreach programs.
She taught her sons at a young age to also give of themselves for the betterment of others; you would see her walking with them door to door collecting donations for the March of Dimes. Donating her time at the Baptist Student Union was the highlight of her week. Not only did she care for her church and community, Artisteen enjoyed six-thirty in the morning walks with three of her lady friends; she believed that being physically fit was the only way to have energy to continue God’s work.
Her loving spirit and kind heart touched everyone with whom she came in contact. One could feel her strength of character and unwavering passion to uplift you in prayer to fed your soul, and if necessary, she feed your physical being.
The actions of this beautiful servant of God is shown in Matthew 5, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” Artisteen W. White is resting in the arms of our loving Father. Although she will be missed by many of us, Matthew 5 tells us, “Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.”
A graveside service for Artisteen will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906.
