WAYNE WAS BORN IN CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA, TO JOE AND KATHRYNE HARPER ON DECEMBER 30, 1941. HE WENT TO BROWN HIGH SCHOOL IN ATLANTA AND GRADUATED IN 1960. HE WENT ON TO EARN A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CHEMISTRY FROM AUSTIN PEAY COLLEGE IN TENNESSEE. HE WORKED AS A CHEMIST FOR PLANTATION PIPE LINE FOR OVER 33 YEARS.HE WAS A GREAT GOLFER AND CHARTER MEMBER OF THE BERKELEY HILLS COUNTRY CLUB AND GOLF COURSE IN NORCROSS, GEORGIA.
HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE MOUNTAIN PARK UNITED METHODIST CHURCH,1405 ROCKBRIDGE ROAD, STONE MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA.
WAYNE IS SURVIVED BY HIS SISTER, CATHY WEAVER, AND HIS NIECES SHERRIE KEITH AND KERRI ODOM.HE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS WIFE, LYNDA BODE HARPER, AND HIS BROTHER, BILL HARPER.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT MOUNTAIN PARK UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1405 ROCKBRIDGE ROAD, STONE MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA, ON WEDNESDAY,JUNE 26, AT 1 P.M.
