Bruce graduated from Rootstown High School in 1976. He was always a hard worker with his first job at Porky Pig’s when he was thirteen years old. He worked for Smithers Scientific Services in Ravenna for many years and with Quality Synthetic Rubber for the past twenty-one years.
Preceded in death by his father Roy and his brother Steve.
Survived by his mother, Jeanne (Nagle) of Rootstown; brothers Dale (Marissa) of Killeen, Texas; John (Ana) of Conway, South Carolina; Tim of Brimfield; Wayne (Cathy) of Rootstown; Joe (Delia) of Rootstown; Dan (Annette) of Rootstown; sister-in-law Kim of Rootstown; and many nieces, nephews, and great friends, including his greatest friends and riding buddies Rick and Nita Saltzman, Mark and Donna Smith, Donny and Anna Blackiston, and Tim Smith.
Bruce is giving life with saving at least three others as an organ donor. Bruce was always willing to help the family whenever asked. He was very generous with his nieces and nephews and was niece Rachel’s guardian. He was never mean or spiteful to anyone but he sure talked a big story! Bruce loved camping with his friends and always had stories about each trip. Bruce’s goofy laughter is ingrained in the soul of anyone who knew him and he will be missed like a cool breeze on a warm summer day.
Many thanks to the people and police officers of St. Clair Township who, as strangers to Bruce, went out of their way to respond at his accident. They are a testament to the beauty of humanity. Also, our appreciation for the heartfelt kindness and professionalism of the Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital ICU staff and Amy of the Center for Organ Recovery and Education who all showed so much care for our brother as if he was their own brother.
