Louise Von Seggern, 87, of Greeley, died Monday, June 10, 2019 at The Bridge in Greeley. She was born February 8, 1932 to Robert Estes and Minnie Victoria (Dawson) Bucklen in Karval, Colorado, where her family homesteaded. Louise was very proud to be a Colorado native.
Louise was reared and educated in Karval and Hugo. Her junior year the family moved to Fort Collins, where Louise graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1949.
On September 16, 1950, she married Leslie Fredric Von Seggern at her parents’ home in Fort Collins. He died on October 15, 2014.
The family lived in many areas in Colorado, including Eaton, Dillon, Burlington, Loveland, Fort Collins and moved to Greeley in 1986.
Louise was a member of Gloria Christi Lutheran Church, where she quilted and was a member of the choir.
Her passions included sewing, quilting, cooking, garage sales and antiquing. She loved spending time with her family. She and her husband enjoyed time spent together hunting for arrowheads in eastern Colorado. She also collected Depression glass, collecting five sets of dishes, one for each of her children.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Vicky Laughlin (Randy) of Greeley and Bobbi Samuels (Bill) of Orofino, Idaho; sons, Rick “Fritz” Von Seggern (Mary) of San Diego, California, John Von Seggern (Gayle) of McLean, Virginia and Thomas Von Seggern (Wendy) of Wamego, Kansas; two sisters-in-law, Velda Bucklen of Kersey and Cathy Von Seggern of Montana; eight grandchildren, Teagan, Andrew, Catherine, Eric, J.T., Analea, Amanda and Kaylea; one great-grandson, Oliver and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight sisters and seven brothers.
A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Gloria Christi Lutheran Church, 1322 31st Avenue, Greeley.
