Michael Scott Fambrough, 31, of Dunwoody, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019. Scott was born June 12, 1987, the son of Ann and Mike Fambrough. He graduated from Dunwoody High School and received a bachelor of science degree from Valdosta State University in Criminal Justice. After college, he held several positions in marketing and insurance sales.
Scott loved sports, and he was an exceptional athlete. He grew up playing all-star baseball at Murphy Candler Park, and Colts recreational football in Dunwoody. At Greater Atlanta Christian School, he was a four-year letterman in baseball and football and his teams were runner-ups to state championships. Because of his outstanding skills, he was highly recruited to play football at the collegiate level. He attended Coastal Carolina University on a football scholarship, and later earned a scholarship at Valdosta State University. He was a starter at the tight end position for both schools.
He was six feet, four inches tall, and very handsome. Body-building was his passion, and he competed in several triathlons after college. He also was selected for various modeling jobs, and he even worked as an extra for Thor Ragnarok on a video shoot.
Scott was a loyal Georgia Bulldog fan, and regularly attended Georgia games and pre-game picnics in Athens with his family. He especially enjoyed the annual Georgia-Florida football game in Jacksonville.
Scott had an exuberance for life, and he enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family. He will always be remembered for his charm and engaging personality. He adored his two dogs, Moka and Roxy, who were his faithful companions for years.
He is survived by his parents, Ann Chandler Fambrough and Michael Fambrough of Dunwoody; his brother Jeff Fambrough and his wife, Julie, and their two children, Isaac and Hannah, of Buford; his grandfather, Hugh Chandler and his wife, Linda, of Tifton; and two aunts: Debi Chandler of Monroe, Louisiana, and Jan Fambrough Burnham of Crawfordville, Georgia.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 10:00am-11:30am at H.M. Patterson & Son - Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319.
