He was a retired chemical engineer, having been co-owner and Vice President of Ohio Falls, Inc; a member of Safe Harbor Community Church; former longtime member of Iroquois Presbyterian Church; an Army veteran of WWII; and a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity of Georgia Tech.
Mr. Privette was preceded in death by his wife Margaret “Micki” Privette. He is survived by his son J. Patrick Mathes; daughter Jann Kajatin (Rick Jenkins); brother, Herman Privette; grandchildren Justin Hayes and Ketlin Schneider (Jeremiah); great-grandchildren Little Justin Hayes, Victor Hayes, Zane Hayes, Cheyenna Furkin, Jessica Schneider, Adrienne Schneider, Karrah Schneider, Kaitlin Schneider, Lucas Schneider, and Abigail Schneider; and great-great-grandchildren Dallas Hayes, Bentlee Hayes, Nevaeh Anderson, and Aabriella Struggs.
A special gratitude for the wonderful care provided to him by Doris Lanham, you were God sent, and to Hosparus Health for holistically enhancing his spirit and quality of life.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Garden West. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm Wednesday.
