Mrs. Dutwin was a longtime author of educational books. Grammar in Plain English, a manual written for adults preparing for the GED, for ESL students preparing for the TOEFL or TOEIC exams, and all others looking to improve their skills in basic English usage, is now in its 4th edition. Other works include Easy Grammar Step by Step, The ABCs of Evaluation, Writing the Easy Way, English the Easy Way, and other works to prepare students for the TABE and the GED.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, a master’s degree from the Kean University in Reading and English, and a second master’s from the University of Rhode Island in Business and English.
She is survived by her husband, Marcel Dutwin of Wickford, Rhode Island, sister Ruth Schachter of Riverside, Rhode Island, son David of Merion Station, Pennsylvania, daughter-in-law Betsy, and grandsons Aidan and Elias.

Services and burial will be held at the Temple B’nai Abraham Memorial Park in Union, NJ on June 27, 2019 at 1:30 pm. Shiva will be at Scandinavian Communities Assisted Living in Cranston, RI on June 28 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
