Edith Venita (Reese) Williamson

Edith was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Paul Henry Williamson; her parents, William and Iona (Woodard) Reese; two sisters, Freda Reynolds and Vivian Smith; and two brothers, Lyle and Donald Foster Reese.

She is survived by two sons, Gordon Williamson & wife Joyce of Elgin, Illinois and Gene Williamson of Kingsport; daughter, Gloria Friedrichs of Kingsport; she will be missed by her children, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Edith was a teacher, church member, club member, friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whom lived each day with a joyous attitude and calm acceptance of all life offered.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Friday (July 5, 2019) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Fairmount, Illinois.

The family extends a grateful thank you to the staff at Wexford House for their loving and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers that family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mafair United Methodist Church (1409 East Center Street, Kingsport, TN 37664).
