Todd Palmer Buttrick, age 59 of Madison, Connecticut passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 surrounded by family and loved ones. Todd’s joy, strength, and positivity through his three year battle with cancer touched the lives and hearts of everyone around him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Alyssa Michelle Buttrick (29) and Jenna Rose Buttrick (25), as well as son-in-law John Raymond Wamser (30), sister Leigh Allison Leighton, and brother Allan Buttrick (Scott). His beloved wife Jill Sarah Buttrick passed away at the age of 43 in March of 2002.
Todd was born in Stamford, Connecticut on March 04, 1960. He grew up in Ridgefield, Connecticut and was raised by his late parents, Allan “Bud” Buttrick Jr. and Anne Palmer Buttrick. Todd was a veteran of the United States Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea CV-43 and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.
Todd worked as a Distribution Sales Manager at Tektronix for 17 years. He then went on to work for Rohde and Schwarz as an Oscilloscope Specialist until the start of his illness in 2015.
Todd and Jill married in 1987 and moved to Madison, Connecticut with their two daughters in 1997. As a loving husband and devoted father, his brightness, bravery, and perseverance were admired most by those closest to him.
Todd enjoyed driving his 1965 Shelby Cobra kit car, which he built himself and dedicated to his late wife after her passing. In most recent years, Todd pursued an interest in Formula Ford racing, competitively driving his 1980 Ford Crosslé in various races across the country.
Friends and family may gather for a celebration of life at Swan Funeral Home in Madison, Connecticut on Tuesday, July 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
