Bill Phillips was not only a man, but He was also a real man, respectful, loyal, and deserved and received the respect from everyone he met. He was always there for me no matter what the situation might have been. We ran the streets of Nashville from six am till six am plenty of nights, having the most fun life had to offer. He loved his wife and children and never stopped bragging about them. Desy was a real trooper and had every right to shoot both of us, but she loved Bill too much. Bill and I grew apart over the last years except for an occasional phone call to reminisce about the good old days and have a good laugh. I will always remember those days…

One of the kindest people I have ever met!  He is the husband of a dear friend of mine, and, from the first time I visited their home he was so easy going and welcoming, including me in the conversation, asking me questions, etc.  I felt at home every time I visited with them, thanks to both of them.
He used to tease me about my (then) little Honda Fit, a very small white car, he called it "a pregnant roller skate", ,which always made me laugh.  When I decided a few years later to buy a new car, one of the models he suggested is what I bought.  As I told my mom, he is the "favorite husband" of any of my friends' spouses!  I know he is missed by family and friends, so much.

I was a friend of Desy's and Bill's for several years, we eventually went out of touch, as sometimes happens, and I feel so much that I wish  had known that he had passed away. I knew him as a man with a great sense of humor (teasing me about my tiny car I drove), always welcoming, always kind whenever i was at their lovely home.   Thinking of him and of Desy today as I heard about this. I no longer live in Nashville, so have been out of touch for quite some time. 

Bill was my best friend for 27 years.   We were involved in many aspects of our lives including truck driving instructors, truck drivers, golfing buddies and went on bike trips which we enjoyed camping out on a few occasions.    All I can say right is that I will miss my best friend!
