John “Johnny” William Hans IV, age 42, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
Johnny had a great personality, was very outgoing and had many talents. He was always up for anything and had a way of drawing others towards him. He was a graduate of Etowah High School in 1995 and excelled at basketball, football and track during school. He later got into wake boarding, golf and riding motorcycles.
Johnny’s passion for food began as soon as he was old enough to work. He enjoyed all aspects of the restauranteur life from cooking to socializing to managing. He managed JD BBQ in Woodstock for his long time friend and mentor, Chip. More than anything, Johnny adored his son, Aiden.
Johnny’s memory will be cherished by his beloved son, Aiden Jace Hans; father, John William Hans III; brothers, Michael and Brian Hans; grandmother, Dorothy Hans; uncle, Jimmy Smithson and his wife, Shirley; aunts, Deloris Smithson-Krietzburg and her husband, Jerry, Joyce Hans-Crumy and her husband, Dominick, Sandy Deblasi and her husband Ralph and Susan Hans-Hallquist; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Woodstock Funeral Home 8855 Main Street Woodstock, GA 30188. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm in the Reece Memorial Chapel. Please bring your favorite memory of Johnny to share with the family during the service. A celebratory meal will follow in Johnny’s memory at JD’s on the Lake 6979 Bells Ferry Road Canton, GA 30114.
