Bernardo is survived by his wife Luzviminda of 42 years, sons Michael and James, and grandchildren Alaia, Eissa and Mika. Bernardo was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend.
Bernardo worked as a custodial engineer with the Vancouver School Board for well over a decade, but went into early retirement due to his health. He spent his free time keeping up with the LA Lakers, spending time with friends at the casino and discovering new restaurants with his family. He also adored his grandchildren, who helped him smile through the pain.
A special thank you to the people at Vancouver General Hospital ICU Department for their loving care and support during his final days, especially to the family and friends who paid a visit to keep his spirits up. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Hamilton Harron Funeral Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
Visitation will be from 11:30am until 1:00pm at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home on Saturday July 13th. Funeral Services to follow from 1:00pm until 1:45pm. Witness Cremation from 2:00pm to 2:15pm at the Vancouver Memorial Services and Crematorium. Reception will be at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 4:00pm
