Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joseph, George, Bernard “Bud”, Lawrence “Romey”, Alfred and Frank, sisters Anna Marie (Joe) Harrigan, Bernardine Clare, and Margaret (Jim) Taylor. She is survived by sister Catherine Corbitt and sister-in-law Catherine “Kitty” Baltz (Frank).
Elizabeth was baptized, received first communion and confirmation at the Church of the Assumption, where she was an active participant from infancy until she became a founding member of St. Piux X Church in 1959.
She was active in St. Pius X and Assumption Choirs, the Legion of Mary, Christian Mothers, St. Pius X and Assumption Parish Councils, Women’s Club, taught RCIA and CCD classes, and served on various boards, fundraisers, and activities.
Elizabeth was employed for 52 years at St. Thomas Hospital, where she started as one of the first ward clerks and advanced through the lab to a certified Histology Technician when she retired.
Elizabeth Baltz will be great missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service being held at 7:00 p.m. at Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Assumption Church 1227 7th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37208.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Pius X Church or St. Pius X School.
