Celebrating the Life of Helen Janice Leys, born July 19, 1932 in Mobile, Alabama to Lester Durwood Doby and Helen Carrie Morris Doby. She lived in Mobile, Alabama until August, 1970 where she attended Prichard Grade School and Vigor High School.
Helen was married to John Anderson Leys for 68 years. They had three children, Patricia, Pamela and Danny. They resided in Deer Park, Texas where Helen was a homemaker, raising her children as a dedicated Christian who had deep faith and an unwavering trust in God. She was a member of Faithbridge Church in Deer Park, Texas.
Helen had many hobbies; bird watching, an avid classic movie buff, and a Natural Park enthusiast. She was also involved with the Maxwell Center in Deer Park, Texas. She enjoyed spending time with special friends Doug and Jan Marcum and Carolyn Martin. Helen was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Leys and her daughter, Patricia Sparks. She is survived by a son, Danny Leys; a daughter, Pamela May; and one sister, Joyce Delaney.
Visitation will be held at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 Pasadena Boulevard, Pasadena, Texas 77502 on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 5:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Faithbridge Church, 4711 Center Street, Deer Park, Texas 77536 at 10:00am. Commital Services will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
