Connie was born on August 17th, 1960 in Pueblo, CO to LeRoy and Barbara. She was raised in the county and lived a very full country life where she loved barrel racing, beauty pageants and people. Shortly after Connie took her adventures to California where she was blessed to start her family and raised her three boys Justin, Jeff and Brandon. After many years there Connie came home to Colorado to be close to her family, here she found passion in trucking, construction, AA/NA and motorcycles.
Connie marched to her own timing and beat, and everyone loved being around her. She loved being a mom to her three boys and found pride in the men they are today. She especially found the greatest joy spoiling her grandkids to the fullest. She lived to live and filled every moment with a memory, whether good or bad she never lost her infectious smile and compassionate spirit. She will forever be on that open road, free, riding her motorcycle to fish in the mountains.
Connie was proceeded in death by her parents LeRoy Van Meter and Barbara Hontz. She is survived by her boys Justin Van Meter, Jeff Shenefelt and Brandon Shenefelt and their children Julian Rayas, Brianna Rayas, Leanne Shenefelt, Levi Van Meter and Donavan Shenefelt and her sisters Deanna (Bob) Aguilar and Amanda Van Meter and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday July 19th, 2019 at the Imperial Memorial Gardens, 5450 Highway 78 West in Pueblo at 2 pm. A celebration on Connie’s life will be held shortly after the funeral at the American Legion on West 9th in Pueblo.
