She was born in Palo Alto, California on April 26, 1945 to the late Mr. Ricardo T. Misquez and Mrs. Julia P. Benabidez Misquez. Stella, as she was lovingly known, graduated from Mountain View High School in Mountain View, CA, in 1963. Stella retired from the financial industry as a teller at Bank of the West.
Stella had a passion for dancing, playing cards, and bowling. However, her heart was most full when she was spending time with her four grandchildren.
Stella is survived by her children, Gina Villarreal and her husband-to-be Eric Medina; Cynthia Ruiz and her husband Michael; and Walter Villarreal. Her grandchildren, Vanessa and Desirae Owen; Amaya and Marcus Ruiz. Brothers and sister-in-laws of Stella: Dimas Misquez and wife Minga; Ricardo Misquez and wife Linda. Stella has many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Stella is also preceded in death by her twin brother Richard Padilla Misquez.
Public visitation will be Sunday, July 14, 2019, 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary from 7 to 8 p.m. will be offered in Stella’s honor at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, Texas, 78660.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Patrick, 2500 Limmer Loop, Hutto, Texas, 78634 on July 15, Monday, at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Cook Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery at 11:30am, in the Garden of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 14501 N. Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, Texas, 78660.
