Lee was born in Warrenton, VA on the twenty third of June 1949 to the late Robert Lee Corbin, Sr. and Mrs. Thelma Roberta Bennett Corbin of Culpeper, VA. After high school, Lee joined the US Army and served in the Viet Nam War and continued to serve his country until his retirement. During his years of service, Lee received many military honors to include two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star with Valor and a Master Parachutist Badge. Lee was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans organizations. He was also a member of the Boones Neck Baptist Church, Supply, NC. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Billy and Jerry “Tibbs” Corbin.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-nine years, Susan Jenkins “Sue” Corbin; his mother, Thelma Corbin of Culpepper, VA; two sons, Robert Allen Corbin and wife Becky of Woodstock, IL, Brian Lee Corbin and wife Lesley of Clayton, NJ; three brothers, Wayne Corbin and wife Regina, Terry “Bo” Corbin and wife Tena, Dennis Corbin; a sister, Patty Barfield and husband Charles; grandchildren, Kassey Gervis and husband Donald, Ryan, Tyler, Sophia Elaine, Tristan, Dale Robert, Emily, Alex, Benjamin and Daniel Corbin and one great-granddaughter, Makayla Gervis.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday the twelfth of August in the Bethel Baptist Church, Reva, VA. A Memorial service with military honors will be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday the twelfth of August 2019 in the Culpeper National Cemetery, New Section, Culpeper, VA.
