George was born in Trenton, NJ to his parents, the late Daniel and Eleftheria Manukas. George was a graduate of Rider University in New Jersey, earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in Commerce in 1970. George also served six years in the New Jersey National Guard.
George’s passions included his family, coaching little league baseball, watching the Eagles football, the Phillies baseball ,playing golf with friends and family and searching for golf balls with his grandchildren.
George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Voula Pappas Manukas; children, Christina Markulic (Christopher) of Apex, and Peter Manukas (Ami) of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Rachel, Elizabeth and Michael; and brothers, Nicholas Manukas (Judith) of Bradenton, Florida and Gus Manukas (Linda) of Florence, NJ; numerous nephews and nieces.
George will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor and affecting everyone he met in a positive light.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17th at 9:00 am until 11:00 am with the funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 5000 Lead Mine Road Raleigh, NC.
Entombment will be held in the mausoleum of Raleigh Memorial Park.
