Our beloved Marjorie Beatrice Phillips, age 93, passed peacefully in her sleep and went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 14, 2019. As a lifelong resident of West Palm Beach Florida, Marge was the daughter of the late Fred McDonald and Freda Boykin. Marge was a true Floridian in every sense of the word, preferring to be out in the sun as opposed to being in the A/C. She attended Palm Beach High School and would often arrive to school early, to sing and harmonize with her sister Billie. Throughout her working career, she looked at every job she held as another opportunity to make more friends. It had been reported that throughout the course of the last 50 years, she has made every resident in West Palm Beach, a platter of homemade brownies. Love is not only something you feel, it is something you do, and Marge did that very well. Being the epitome of love, Marge always put others first. She loved hosting and cooking Sunday afternoon dinners, every Sunday, for many, many years. No matter how many people were there, there was always enough food. Her compassion for others was so profound. On more than one occasion she would bring homeless people and complete strangers to her home to make them a meal. Above all, she practiced forgiveness. Never held a grudge. Her love for Christ was exemplified in every aspect of her life.
Marge is preceded in death by her husband, Werner E. Phillips, son, Clarence (Chip) Ballentine Jr., and daughters Jeanne Vega and Jill Henry. She is survived by her sister Virginia (Billie) Reichard (and her sons Jeff (and wife Donna), Steve (and wife Tamara and children), Linda (and daughter), and Sharon (and Debbie); sons, Jack Ballentine (and wife Charlotte Pollock), Kevin Black (and wife Justine and their children Karrah, Josh, and Brent); Brad Phillips (and wife Jeanne & children), Clyde Phillips (and wife Jo and children); daughter Kandace Feehan (and children); her grandchildren Nicole Moore Lemoine (and husband David and their 4 children), Rom Rimland, and great grandchild Kristin Ciomei (and her 2 children, Brook and Nian ); and a host of great grandchildren, cousins, relatives, and close friends.
There will be a Memorial Service for friends and family at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION AND EVENT CENTER, 6411 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach, Fl. 33405, on Sunday, July 21st, 2019. Visitation at 1:00 p.m., Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., and Burial Service at 3:00 p.m.
