Wendy Montri, 63, of Atascadero, California, left the world for a better place on July 15, 2019 after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born Wendy Morton to Carleton Boling Morton and Marguerite Elizabeth Peverly in Pasadena, California. Wendy grew up in Arcadia, California and knew she wanted to be a teacher from the age of eight. After graduating from Monrovia High in 1974, she went on to earn a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo. Soon after, she began her career as an elementary school teacher in Atascadero where she taught for nearly 40 years. Wendy put her heart into teaching and always enjoyed reconnecting with former students. Swimming, water skiing, and being outside in the California sun were some of her favorite activities. She also adored her golden retrievers. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and brother, Tom. Wendy is survived by her two children, Brent and Michelle, as well as her youngest brother, Daniel Morton, former husband, Alan Montri, and her golden retriever, Lilly. There will be a celebration of life held for Wendy at a later date.
