Marilyn was beloved by not just her family; but by all who came to know her. Although her long life led her down many winding paths, she came to know, love, and serve God. She will be greatly missed.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; one son; Larry O’Neal Flowers three sisters Helen Louise Ikner Rich, Dorothy Marie Ikner Flowers, Shirley Ree (J.J.) Ikner Bell, and one brother-in-law; Clayton Perry.
Left with beautiful memories of Marilyn will be four children: Thomas Mitchell Flowers, Jacqueline Flowers Turberville, Robert Braxton Drew and wife Linda, John David Hamner and wife Mary, one sister; MaeBelle Ikner Perry, one brother; James Arlington Ikner, six grandchildren: Haley Nicole Hamner Lynn and husband Jeff, Robert David Hamner and wife Moriah, John Michael Hamner, Katie Lynn Hamner, Titania Marie Collette, and Abigail Hana Marie Hamner, one great grandson; Lucas Crawford Lynn, along with many extended family member and numerous extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, send a charitable donation to the USA Woman & Children’s Hospital. Using her crocheting skills, Marilyn created over 100 caps and matching booties for children that had to stay at the hospital.
The family would like to extend their sincerest and deepest gratitude to Ms. Gwen Bettis, the residents and staff at Ashland Place, the staff at Mobile Infirmary, Pastor Troy Clemens and wife Alexia and Father Patrick Arensburg for all of the care and compassion expressed to Marilyn and her family during her great time of need.
