Born in Brooklyn, she resided there for most of her life before settling in Farmingdale 10 year ago.
Mrs. Pero and her husband Eugene owned Safeway Car Service for 30 years. Earlier in her career, she was a Legal Stenographer and worked for an orthopoedic doctor.
Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, Eugene; her cherished sons Jonathan Kantor of Far Rockaway, NY and Christopher Pero and his wife Dina of Freehold; her beloved sister Elaine Hornstein and her husband Allan of Manchester, her beloved granddaughter, Sofia Pero; and her two nephews, Jeffrey and Neil Hornstein.
Funeral services will be held at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens on the grounds of Beth Israel Cemetery, 1000 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 1:30PM. Please meet at the cemetery administration office at 1:15PM and we will proceed to the mausoleum together.
Shiva will be observed at the family's home at the Equestra Community in Farmingdale after services on Tuesday. Shiva will continue on Wednesday and Thursday from 12-3PM and 5-9PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to the Monmouth County SPCA.
