Luz B. Bowen, 90 years of age from Austin, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019. The family will be accepting guests at Cook Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Funeral services will be held at Cook Walden Forest Oaks Chapel on Monday, August 5, 2019, at 10:00am with interment following at Cook Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
Luz was born on October 28, 1928 in Mexico City, Mexico to Manuel and Elena (Martinez) Bracamonte. Luz dedicated her life to being a missionary for Christ. She was a woman of great faith that inspired and transformed the lives of her loved ones and those in her community by example. Her faith in the Most HIgh was unshakeable. She will always be remembered for that. She was a true blessing to all those who knew her. She was a dedicated mother and loving wife. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William A. Bowen, her siblings Manuel and Luis Bracamonte, her sister-in-law Martha A. Bracamonte and nephews Armando and Alvaro Bracamonte and niece Carolina Bracamonte, her aunts Luz Romo and Magdalena de Celada.
Luz is survived by her son, Carlos Bowen; daughter, Maria Carolina Bowen and husband, Fritz R. Tutein and her three grandchildren; Sofia A. Rodriguez, Asad Carrington and Jahhymn Tutein.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the congregation of the church El Verbo and all those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s children’s hospital, as she was very fond of all children.
