Isabel served in the British Women’s Auxiliary Air Force for two years during WWII, and later volunteered as a Girl Guide Leader for many years. She was passionate about knitting, sewing, baking (we all remember her famous chocolate chip cookies), and most of all, she loved children, especially babies. Isabel was a positive, sweet, and caring person and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children Jim (Bev) Lynes, Cate (Larry) Koler, Jennifer Reain, and Ron (Jacqui Powless) Lynes, grandchildren Krista, Phil, and Emilie Lynes, Nicole Koler-Jarjour, Gillian and Kyle Reain, Malcolm, Nathan, and Maggie Powless-Lynes, great-grandchildren Xavier, Nico, Leo Frances, Rafi, Jackson, and Cameron, and her sisters-in-law Betty MacPherson and Kay Glasheen. Isabel was predeceased by her soulmate and husband of 67 years, Gordon Lynes, her brothers Jim MacPherson, Bill MacPherson, and Fred MacPherson, her sister Betty Connor, and sister-in-law Vera MacPherson. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Coutts Funeral Home (96 St Andrews Street, Cambridge) on Wednesday, August 14th from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm, with a Funeral Service to follow at 4:00 pm in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment at Mount View Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.
