Visitation will be Thursday August 15, 2019 at Calvary Hill 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas, 6 – 8 pm. Rosary begins at 7 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Monica Catholic Church. Private inurnment to be held at a later date.
Cathy, a long-time Dallas resident and proud member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution, was born in Rome, New York, to Merwin and Doris Healy in July 8, 1947. She married Thomas Malorzo on December 28, 1968 in Rome, New York. Cathy was a dedicated labor and delivery nurse at Fairview General Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio before relocating to Baylor University Medical Center upon moving to Dallas, Texas where she worked for 27 years. Cathy was Co-Chair of Continuous Quality Improvement for Labor and Delivery from 1996 until her retirement. She was a member of AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses) and attended conferences where she gave both podium and poster presentations. Cathy was an innovative nurse who loved to solve problems in L&D with Kathy Dwight, her very close friend, sister from another mother, and partner in crime.
Cathy is preceded in death by her son Craig T. Malorzo, DDS, and her parents Merwin and Doris Healy.
Cathy is survived by her husband Tom Malorzo, daughter Amy Cummiskey and husband Joe, daughter-in-law Emily Malorzo Meek, daughter Mary Parsley and husband Tony, son TJ Malorzo and wife Patricia Neuhoff-Malorzo, sisters Karen Curran , Anne Jones, and Patty Schilling, grandchildren Darrin and Nicholas Waller, Ava Malorzo, Moriah Malorzo, Morgan Boyles, Sebastian Thomas, Amber and Avery Malorzo, Leo Fontneau, and great-grandchildren Hailey, Hayden, and Anthony Boyles.
Pallbearers will be TJ Malorzo, Sebastian Thomas, Darrin Waller, Nick Waller, Joe Cummiskey, Tony Parsley, and Brandt Waller. Honorary pallbearer is Terry O'Connor, MD.
Memorials may be given to Greater Dallas Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution or The Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas. The Malorzo family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all family and friends who offered assistance, Stephen Ministry, and the doctors and nurses at Clements Hospital 8th floor.
