Ernest lived a life that was rich and full of purpose. He served in the United States Army after which he attended and graduated from west Virginia State College where he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. After college Ernest began a career with the Federal Government where he worked for 42 years in various executive capacities. After retirement, Ernest worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise line and Salvation Army where he taught GED and literacy.
During his life Ernest gave back to the community by volunteering. He attended Ella Green Missionary Baptist Church in Cold Water, Mississippi until he became ill.
Ernest loved fishing, camping, boating, reading, good music and of course a good party. Always the life of the party, Ernest's favorite phrases were, "Let's Do It", "Oh Boy" and "Think".
Ernest was preceded in death by his father, Harold Davis; mother, Virgia Davis and son, Charles Williams.
Ernest is survived by Nora Davis his loving wife of 38 years; son, Charles Davis; daughter, Kathy Jordan; three grandchildren; Demarco Davis, Markenya Davis and Evan Freeman; three great-grandchildren, Mekai Davis, Jaivon Craig and Nore McHenry. Ernest is also survived by a host of family and friends.
