Born to a large family of 8 brothers and 4 sisters John immigrated to the USA at age of 21, he arrived on the Queen Mary in NYC on October 12th 1949. He always said he and Christopher Columbus founded America on the same day.
Eager to work John got a job as an elevator operator and worked his way up in his career.
He joined the Air Force in 1951 - 1955
He attended Rutgers College in the evening and after completing 2 years, he got a job as a Junior Accountant with an auto parts business Economy Auto Supply.
John quickly moved up the ladder to become Sales Manager & then Vice President.
In 1975 he opened his own business, Paterson Auto Parts, which has been operating successfully for the past 44 years. John retired in 1984, but remained as a consultant to the business.
John was a dedicated business man, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather and he will be missed by all who knew him.
John was predeceased by his wife Virginia (2015).
He leaves to cherish his memory his Sons John and his wife Connie, Michael and his wife Juana, Dennis and his wife Barbara, Grandchildren Christina, Lauren, Sean and Great Granddaughter Jessica and two siblings Ellen and Dennis as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation for John will be held Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 26, 2019 at 10:15 AM at St Michael's Church, 1212 Kelly St, Union. Entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
