Born on October 27, 1942, Howard was a loving husband, father, stepfather & grandfather, and a proud US Navy Veteran. Howard joined the Navy in March, 1964 and served in Vietnam on the USS Hubbard until he received his honorable discharge in March, 1968. Having learned electronics in the Navy, Howard enjoyed a successful career in the computer industry and was considered an expert in his field.
Howard had a love for life that was seen and felt by all who knew him, and the things that brought him the most joy in life were his family & friends, good jazz music, cheering on his LA Rams, and coaching his fantasy football team, The Brewsers. And a nice cold Bud Light was known to bring a smile to his face,
as well.
Howard retired on February 16, 2005, married his sweetheart and best friend Carla the very next day, and summed up his new life with 3 simple words: “Life is Good!!”. Howard and Carla soon thereafter embarked a new adventure and moved to Fort Mohave, AZ, where they built a beautiful new life together. Howard truly enjoyed his new desert lifestyle and was in his glory with the perpetual blue skies and temperatures oftentimes exceeding 100 degrees, and he deeply appreciated his wife Carla indulging him by lovingly & patiently enduring the Arizona heat because of the happiness she knew his new life brought him.
Howard was a devoted & wonderful Husband and best friend to Carla; an amazing & loving Dad to Chris and Traci; an awesome Stepfather to Jason; a super proud Grandpa to Teague, Quinn & Rayce and a very beloved and cherished Brother-in-Law, Father-in-Law, Cousin and Uncle. Howard’s smile, sense of humor, warmth & affection, loving heart and hugs will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”- Eskimo proverb
Howard was, and will always be, our Shining Star!
