Frances Elizabeth was born in Westerville, Ohio on February 8th, 1925 to Homer and Cordelia Tracht and passed away August 31 at the age of 94.
She had only one little sister when her father moved the family to Riverside.
She would eventually be the eldest of seven children.
Her mother said she never could have raised all those kids without Frances' help
She worked as a live-in nanny/housekeeper the last two years of high school.
She attended Redlands college and became a pre-school teacher.
After a six-month whirlwind romance she married Lloyd Burns in 1953. They adopted Cynthia after ten years of marriage without children, and, as God sometimes has a sense of humor, Frances gave birth to Lucille eight months later. Lloyd passed away in 2014. Cindy passed away in July 2017 after a ten-year battle with cancer
The most important thing in her life was her love of Christ. For decades she was a member of a bible study group of close friends their focus being to learn and grow in their knowledge of God. Later, she joined Northwest church.
She witnessed to people daily and read the bible to her children nightly, teaching them to always ask themselves, "What would Jesus do?". .
Caring for her family and helping to raise her grandchildren was the focus of her life. Before dementia set-in she volunteered at nursing homes. The last 12 years of her life she was cared for by Grace Robinson-Whipple, the owner of the assisted-living facility and a long-time family friend.
She is survived by three siblings, Ada Mae Carter of Indiana, Tom Tracht of Fontana, and Jim Tracht of Oklahoma, her daughter Lucy, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Frances will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Tinkler Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 475 North Broadway, Fresno, CA 93701.
