He was raised in San Antonio, TX, Albuquerque, NM, and Mercedes, TX.
He graduated among the top ten in his class from Weslaco High School and graduated cum laude from New Mexico Tech Institute of Mining and Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Eric loved music and was a gifted musician who could play music by ear. He was a poet, an excellent cook, and had a beautiful mind. He was a skilled and respected engineer who led engineering projects across the continental U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Eric was kind and generous. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, and a proud father. Eric is survived by his wife Elaine and their two wonderful sons Declan and Aidan Campbell; his brother Jeremy Campbell (Jessica Campbell); Mr. and Mrs. Rene Peynado and family; Josefina (Magdaleno) Maldonado mother in law; and his sisters in law Linda Gonzalez (Jaime Gonzalez), Cynthia Maldonado (Augusto Guerra), Liza Maldonado (Bo Shue), as well as his five nieces Lainee, Jillian, Lili, Elena and Vivianna. Eric is also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins from the Campbell and Parks Family.
A memorial service will be held at Highland Funeral Home in Weslaco, Texas, on September 7, 2019 at 3:00 PM in honor of Eric’s life.
