Il laisse aussi dans le deuil sa fille Lenaïk, ses petits-enfants Gabrielle, Rosalie, Elisabeth, Emmanuelle, Yann, Rowan, ses arrière-petits-enfants Élissa, Henri et Ziah, ainsi que sa soeur Diane (Donald), son frère Edward (Freda) sa nièce Susan et son neveu Tom.
Raymond a obtenu son diplôme de la faculté de droit de McGill en 1958, où il a exercé les fonctions d’éditeur du McGill Law journal 1957 -1958. Il était éditeur de La Forge en 1956-1957, publication littéraire d’étudiants de McGill et président du programme de Conférence McGill sur les affaires du monde (M.C.W.A.).
Il fut membre du barreau Pendant 50 ans.
Dès le début de sa brillante carrière en droit civil, il a plaidé de nombreux cas devant les hautes juridictions sur des questions qui font encore aujourd’hui jurisprudence.
Il était l’un des précurseurs aux pratiques modernes des entreprises du droit de la santé. Ses conseils étaient très recherchés par de nombreux établissements du réseau de la santé. Il a aussi publié plusieurs ouvrages en droit de la santé.
Raymond a été l’artisan des structures actuelles de gestion de la firme Monette Barakett, qui font aujourd’hui son succès. Ses valeurs d’excellence et de rigueur en faisaient aussi un administrateur avisé.
Il fut mentor pour de nombreux jeunes avocats dont certains sont aujourd’hui associés de la firme Monette Barakett. D’autres s’illustrent comme membres de la magistrature.
À l'âge de 75 ans, Raymond a parcouru 750 kilomètres de la France à l'Espagne, appelé le Chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle.
Des dons peuvent être faits à la Société Alzheimer de Montréal.
Les condoléances auront lieu le 10 octobre de 10h00 à 14h00 suivie d’une célébration en la Chapelle au Centre Funéraire Côte des Neiges, 4525 Chemin de la Côte des Neiges H3V 1E7.

Raymond passed away peacefully at the Lachine General Hospital on
September 7th at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife Janice and
predeceased by his former wife Pauline.
He is survived by his daughters Catherine, Isabelle (Pierre Paul), their mother Monique and predeceased by his son Carl.
He is survived by his daughter Lenaïk.
Grandchildren Gabrielle, Rosalie, Elisabeth, Emmanuelle, Yann and Rowan.
Great grandchildren Élissa, Henri and Ziah. Brother of Diane (Donald)
Edward (Freda) niece Susan and nephew Tom.
Raymond graduated from McGill Faculty of Law in 1958 where he served as
editor of the McGill law journal firm 1957 -1958. He was Editor of the Forge
In 1956-1957 a literary publication of McGill students and Program Chairman
of the McGill Conference on World Affairs (M.C.W.A.) . For 50 years he was
a member of the Bar. At first he enjoyed a brilliant career in civil law and
pleaded many cases before the high courts on questions which still today
constitute jurisprudence. He was one of the precursors of the firms Modern
practice of health law. He was a much sought after counsel by many
establishments in the health network. He published many works in the field
of health law. Raymond was the architect of the present management structure of
the firm Monette Barakett which has ensured its success . His standard of
excellence and rigour were the hallmarks of a shrewd administrator. He was a
mentor for many young lawyers of whom some are today associates of the
firm , others have known success as members of the judiciary.
At the age of 75 Raymond walked 750 kilometres from France to Spain called the Camino de Santiago the Way of St. James

Condolences will be held on October 10th from 10:00AM to 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration in the Chapel at the Centre Funeraire Cote des Neiges 4525 Cote des Neiges H3V 1E7.
