Millie was born near Milwaukee, WI where she lived with her parents Cora & Roman (Rocky) Sobotik and her brother Dave. The entire family worked hard on the Mink Ranch. Millie was crowned Miss Menominee Falls during high school. She loved social events and dancing. Millie married Alvin Roznick in 1951. They had two boys John (Sharon) & Roy (Lisa) and 4 grandsons, Daniel, Jacob, Michael and James. After her husband’s death in 1988, she relocated to Woodbury, MN to be closer to John & Sharon’s family and participate in raising their children. Millie was an active member of the Woodbury YMCA where she enjoyed water aerobics and Silver Sneaker exercise classes. She established many of her friends through friendships forged at the YMCA. Mildred was a member of Salem Lutheran Church & Woodbury Lutheran Church. She volunteered at many of the church’s activities. Millie loved the outdoors from an early age, probably from growing up on the ranch. During the summers, she could be found down on her hands & knees weeding and transplanting groundcover at John & Sharon’s home. She truly was our very own Master Gardener. Millie was active in the lives of Michael & Jimmy as they grew up. She was well known by the neighborhood kids for her famous “Grandma Cookies”. She was a chef extraordinaire making 5 course meals that made every day at her house seem like Thanksgiving. Every meal was accompanied by two entrees, several types of bread, fruit, salad, a couple of vegetable options and multiple treats for dessert. She managed to make everything in her tiny kitchen without missing a beat. Her meals were a culinary event. We will miss being spoiled by Millie and miss her love that she shared with us so freely. Millie was blessed to have shared 90 years with her friends and family. Rest in Peace Grandma and may God have a wonderful garden for you to tend and kitchen so you can cook for the angels.
