Patricia Kay Keller was born on August 17, 1944 to James A. and Opal A. (Fry) Gatliff in Columbus, Kansas. She was raised in Tieton and graduated from Highland High School in 1962. On August 24, 1963 Pat married Richard W. Keller. Together, they raised two children and farmed in the upper Yakima Valley. Through her life, Pat worked as a bookkeeper at Jim’s Garage, Upper Valley Farm Service Center and Apple King. She loved volunteering at the school and church which kept her involved with the community and youth of the Highland area her whole life.
She joyously went to be with her Lord on September 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Throughout her years-long battle with metastatic breast cancer, she insisted that the Lord’s blessings outweighed any difficulty she encountered. Her strength and hope have always been in the Lord. Though she knew how deeply she would be missed, in the end she looked forward to dancing at Jesus’ throne, free of sickness and pain.
Pat is survived by her children, Julie (Steve) Bosma and Jim (Nikki) Keller; her grandchildren Dalton Keller, Kendall Keller, Rachael Keller, Angel Aguilar, Nichole Bosma, Jake (Rebecca) Bosma, Leah (Matt) Eddie, Steven (Julie) Bosma, and Katie Bosma; three great grandchildren Logan Eddie, Sarah Eddie, and Aidan Bosma; her brothers and sisters in-law Ray and Susan Keller, Mike and Rosie Saunders, and Dennis and Roberta Caffrey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Ray Gatliff; husband, Dick; father, Jim; mother, Opal; and many beloved aunts and uncles.
Pat deeply appreciated the support of her church family from Highland Community Church. They lovingly supported her beyond comprehension. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the youth group of Highland Community Church, where she was only known as “Grandma Pat.”
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Keith & Keith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Church of Christ, 100 N. 72nd Avenue, Yakima. Concluding graveside services will follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
