Collette Kelly was a resident of Flint, Michigan. She had a degree in Planning from U of M-Flint and used her knowledge and love of Flint to help the community. She worked for Metro Community Development as a Loan Servicing and Reporting Administrator. Collette was extremely intelligent and was usually the smartest person in the room. Collette had creative abilities she tried to express in unique ways. She produced many beautiful knitted items often spinning her on yarn to make them. She spent months working on them and gave most of her creations away as gifts. She was a gifted photographer and has a massive library of amazing photographs. She was an excellent cook and loved making ethnic dishes. She had deep respect for other cultures. She had a lovely singing voice and had an eclectic taste in music. She spoke highly of her co-workers and enjoyed what she did. During the Flint Water Crisis, she participated in programs that helped many people. She had so many great ideas for Flint that never materialized, ideas that were specifically geared toward helping those in the most need. She was a champion for the underdog and frequently used her voice to speak for them. She will be deeply missed by those that knew her best, especially her grandniece Cadence with whom she had a very special relationship. "Auntie Collette" was a kind and generous person and the world is not a better place without her. Collette is survived by her father, Patrick Kelly; mother, Nanette Kelly; sister, Emily Kelly; Aunt, Kitty; grandniece, Cadence. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 2pm-8pm with prayer service at 6pm with Father Phil Schmitter at Brown Funeral Home-1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan.
