Marion "Bo" Edward Eagles

Bo was born on the 7th of October 1939, in Winnfield, Louisiana, to Edward Porter Eagles and Juanita Wagoner Eagles. He attended Louisiana Tech University, Advanced Management Development at the University of Texas and the Tuck Executive Program at The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, Dartmouth College. He served over 58 years in the Oil Service Industry in various executive leadership roles for Cameron Iron Works, McDermott, Weatherford, Techdrill and EBT Ventures as well as serving on several prominent boards.

His commitments to organization leadership extended well into the civic arena where he was active in Boy Scouts of America, United Way, and received the Don E. Waggener/Butch Griffin Award from Spindletop International for his contributions to the organization’s chartable efforts. It was thru Bo’s direction that the Weatherford Enterra Services Division became one of the original Charity Partners of the Shell Houston Open when the program began in 1994. He served as chair committee with the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo and Opera of the Heights and was an ambassador to the Houston Texans. His most recent passion was spending time with the Association of Retired Executives (ARE).

Bo is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Anita Darbonne; and his brother, Tommy Joe Eagles. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; his daughters, Jerri Sweet and her husband Scott, Donna Arnold and her husband Todd, and Mamie Rittiman and her husband Darrell; five grandchildren, Taylor Arnold, Austin Arnold, Jack Powell, Annabelle Powell, and Bo Rittiman; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Manning.

Bo’s life would seem too short for many that knew him, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of life and family far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. The order of his life was God, Wife, Family and Relationships. He valued and respected every person that he had the privilege of meeting during his life.

A funeral service and celebration of his life is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 20th of September, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.

At a later date, Mr. Eagles’ family will gather for a private entombment in the chapel of the Texas Liberty Mausoleum at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
